The recent unprecedented floods in Assam brought heartbreak to several districts—swallowing villages, damaging homes and livelihoods, and leaving thousands of families cut off from safety, supplies, and certainty. At a time when many communities were struggling to recover from the shock and fear of rising waters, Live4Help Foundation, with the generous sponsorship and support of Erbe Medical India Pvt. Ltd., stepped forward with a dedicated flood relief initiative for some of the hardest-hit families in Sivasagar District, Assam.
Rooted in the belief that humanity shines brightest when people stand beside one another, Live4Help Foundation volunteers worked with urgency, care, and compassion to bring relief to families who had been waiting for help amid uncertainty. The effort focused on the severely affected villages of Betbari, Bokabil, Nimaijan, and Dwarikapar, where many residents remained stranded even weeks after the floodwater had risen.
Reaching Families Still Surrounded by Water
Even more than twenty days after the worst flooding, many roads were still submerged under four to five feet of water, cutting off normal access to villages and making every movement difficult. Boats became the only way to reach several communities. With the support of local volunteers and community leaders, the team arranged transport to carry relief materials across flooded routes and into places where families were still waiting for necessities.
Volunteers moved through waterlogged settlements with one clear purpose: to ensure that no family felt forgotten. The mission reached more than 200 flood-affected families and individuals, offering immediate support during a deeply vulnerable time. Relief packages included rice, lentils, flour, chickpeas, cooking oil, salt, sugar, biscuits, milk, soybeans, flattened rice, soap, mosquito nets, and other essential supplies. Mosquito nets were especially important to help protect families from mosquito-borne diseases that often increase after severe flooding.
A Partnership Powered by Compassion and Commitment
This mission was strengthened by the extraordinary commitment of Dr. Animesh Mondal and the dedicated team (Mr. Madhab Sardar, Dr. Manoranjan Mondal, Mr. Malay Mondal) of Roymoni Smriti Foundation. The team undertook a long train journey from Kolkata to Assam, not for recognition, but to serve families in distress. Once on the ground, they spent days coordinating logistics, procuring supplies, preparing relief packages, and helping ensure that support reached over 200 affected families across multiple villages despite difficult conditions.
Live4Help Foundation offers heartfelt gratitude to the Roymoni Smriti Foundation team. Their journey, sacrifice, and hands-on service stand as a moving example of what community solidarity truly means when people are facing hardship.
