Cancer awareness goes beyond medical knowledge—it is about breaking fear, silence, and stigma. In many communities, the word cancer is still spoken in whispers, often associated with hopelessness. This fear prevents individuals from seeking timely screening, asking critical questions, or recognising early warning signs. At Live4Help Foundation, we are committed to changing this narrative by replacing fear with knowledge and stigma with empathy.

On 21 February 2026, Live4Help Foundation successfully conducted a Cancer Awareness Programme, marking another meaningful step in our mission to promote preventive healthcare and community education. The initiative focused primarily on breast cancer awareness, highlighting the importance of early detection and preventive screening. Through this programme, women were empowered with practical knowledge and confidence, reinforcing the belief that seeking medical care is an act of strength, courage, and self‑care.

We were honoured by the invaluable support of Prof. Dr. Shyamsundar Roy and Prof. Dr. Kundan Ghosh from Mahishadal Girl’s College, whose dedication ensured the smooth and effective conduct of the programme. The initiative reached 223 students and family members, enabling vital health information to reach both young participants and caregivers within the community.

We are also grateful to Dr. Maji for his continued support of our Cancer Awareness Initiative. The programme featured an interactive presentation and Q&A session, followed by a live demonstration of the Breast Cancer Detection Manikin. Several local girls were trained in self‑testing techniques, encouraging active participation, open dialogue, and practical understanding of early detection and appropriate next steps for care.

We gratefully acknowledge M/S. Erbe Medical India Pvt Ltd. for sponsoring the event and thank Mr. Ridhwipratim Sarkar for his presence and support. Such partnerships strengthen our commitment to advancing grassroots healthcare initiatives through meaningful collaboration.

Our sincere thanks go to Roymoni Smriti Foundation, led by Prof. Dr. Animesh Mandal, along with Ashim Das, Debashish Munda, Kunal Panda, and Raju Saha, whose efforts in beneficiary coordination and community engagement were instrumental to the programme’s success.

The attached snaps and clippings capture the tangible impact and success of this programme, reinforcing our belief that awareness inspires action and saves lives. In February 2026, Live 4 Help Foundation (L4H) furthered its environmental conservation mission through a large-scale mangrove restoration initiative in the Sundarban region of West Bengal. As part of this effort, 10,000 native mangrove saplings were planted to strengthen coastal ecosystems and enhance long-term ecological resilience.

The plantation included indigenous mangrove species such as Sundari, Bain, Kakra, Garjan, Golpata, and Dhuldhul, carefully selected for their adaptability and critical role in sustaining the biodiversity and stability of coastal mangrove habitats.

Mangrove ecosystems are vital for coastal protection, biodiversity conservation, and the livelihoods of communities living in climate-vulnerable regions. This initiative contributes to restoring ecological balance while promoting nature-based solutions that support long-term environmental sustainability and climate resilience.

The project was generously supported by M/s Eastman India under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, reflecting a shared commitment to responsible environmental stewardship. L4H extends special thanks to Mr. V. B. Sud for his leadership and support in facilitating the CSR partnership with M/s Eastman India.

L4H also acknowledges the dedicated efforts of Mr. Animesh Mandal and his team, whose on-ground coordination and implementation were instrumental in the successful execution of the plantation activity.

To ensure the durability and long-term success of the initiative, L4H has committed to continuous monitoring and maintenance. This includes the replacement of damaged saplings and the repair of protective fencing affected by river currents and extreme weather conditions, thereby supporting healthy establishment and sustained growth of the mangroves over time.

As part of its ongoing mission, Live 4 Help Foundation invites corporate partners to support future phases of its mangrove restoration program through CSR sponsorships. Such collaborations enable the scaling of plantation efforts, sustained maintenance, and the creation of lasting ecological impact in vulnerable coastal regions.

Live 4 Help Foundation’s In-Person Interaction with Beneficiary Students in 2025

The Live 4 Help (L4H) Foundation believes in the power of face-to-face interactions to build strong relationships with students and motivate them to achieve their full potential. In December 2025, three core members, Tarun Maiti from Delhi, Ramkrishna Sadhukhan from the USA, and Asis Das from Kolkata, embarked on a five-day tour of West Bengal and Jharkhand to meet and support students.

The primary objective of these meetings was to review the students’ progress, address any challenges they might be facing, and understand their aspirations. Additionally, the team aimed to assess whether any additional facilities or support were needed to enhance their performance and morale.

On December 20th, the L4H team visited the Bankura District of West Bengal and met with Shatarupa Mandal, who is pursuing her second year of MBBS. at Bankura Sammilani Medical College.  She expressed determination to make the most of the limited resources and facilities available on campus and assured us that her efforts, coupled with our support, would not go in vain.

The following day, December 21st, the team travelled to Purulia town and met Shubham Pandey, who is pursuing a PhD at the University of Florida after completing a master’s degree from IIT, Chennai, and Hriday Pramanik, who is progressing well in his Engineering studies. After detailed discussions about their studies, the team visited their homes to meet and encourage their parents, who were extremely delighted to see us.

On December 22nd, the team visited Trimurti Public School in Chas, Bokaro, where they met seven students: Ayush Kumar, Sakshi, Kushi Kumari, Riya Raj, Md. Taslim, Sahiba Kaur, and Price Kumar Jha. The team interacted with each student individually, reviewed their progress, and provided advice on achieving their goals. The Vice Principal of the school, Smt. Razia Sultan, was found to be very cooperative and supportive of both the students and L4H.

On December 23rd, the team moved to Madhupur and visited Anandalaya Public School in Jharkhand and had detailed interactions with seven students: Abha Kumari, Punam Kisku, Rakhi Kumari, Jeenat Parween, Subhani Parween, Mahin Parween, and Puja Kumari. While the students were generally doing well, they expressed concerns about their proficiency in English. Virtual classes on spoken English were suggested as a potential solution to help them immensely. The team also felt that periodic reviews and regular interactions would boost their morale and build a sense of accountability.

In Kolkata, the team met with five students: Satyabrata Patra and Subhankar Das from Belgharia R. K. Mission Student’s Home, and Rohan Dwari, Babita Giri, and Sudip Das from East Garia Educational Institution. Jayanta Guin, one of our sponsors from the USA, accompanied the team to meet with Rohit Dwari, whom he is supporting, as well as other students from East Garia Educational Institution. The team’s goal is to connect students with their sponsors to provide first-hand experiences.

Overall, the team connected with 22 students, reaffirming L4H’s commitment to these interactions. They were pleased to learn that some students aspired to become IAS and IPS officers, while others were keen on pursuing higher studies.

To continue this impactful work, we seek your generous support. Donations will aid in providing educational materials, funding community learning programs, and expanding digital literacy initiatives. Every contribution makes a difference. For more information, visit www.live4help.org or contact us at live4help.org@gmail.com.
